Limit COD
The Limit COD page controls where, when and for whom Cash on Delivery is offered at checkout.
1. Status
- Active — all your restrictions apply.
- Inactive — no restrictions apply. Your rules stay saved.
2. Payment method
Select the payment method that is Cash on Delivery, for example the Cash on Delivery manual payment method from the setup guide. Your restrictions apply to this payment method.
3. Keep delivery options in sync
When a rule hides Cash on Delivery, shoppers could still pick a COD-only delivery option and then find they can't pay with COD. This setting hides that delivery option at the same time.
- Turn on Also hide the matching delivery option when Cash on Delivery is hidden.
- Select the delivery or shipping option(s) used for COD, such as Cash on Delivery, COD – Standard or COD – Express.
Every selected option is hidden whenever any active rule hides COD.
4. Order total and discount
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Restrict based on order total | Turns the minimum / maximum rule on or off. |
| Minimum price | COD is hidden when the order total is below this amount. |
| Maximum price | COD is hidden when the order total is above this amount. Leave it empty for no maximum. |
| Restrict based on discount | COD is hidden when the order's discount is more than the amount you set. Leave the amount empty to hide COD on any discounted order. |
Minimum and maximum must be zero or more, and the maximum can't be lower than the minimum.
5. Shipping method
Under Local pickup orders, choose how COD works when the shopper picks up their order:

| Follow my other rules | Cash On Delivery follows your other rules. If a Cash On Delivery fee is on, it's hidden for pickup because pickup has no shipping rate to carry the fee. |
| Hide Cash On Delivery | Cash On Delivery is hidden when a customer chooses local pickup. |
| Keep Cash On Delivery available | Cash On Delivery stays available next to your other payment methods, even when a Cash On Delivery fee is on. No fee is charged for pickup. |
| Show only Cash On Delivery | Other payment methods are hidden when a customer chooses local pickup. |
Tick Hide Cash On Delivery for local delivery orders to hide COD when the shopper chooses local delivery.
6. Products, variants, collections, vendors and gift cards
These rules look at what's in the cart. You can use several together; for example, products and variants are separate rules, not alternatives.

| Products | Hide COD if any selected product is in the cart. Manage the list in bulk: select all, or remove several at once. |
| Variants | Hide COD if any selected variant is in the cart. Use it to restrict one size or colour rather than the whole product. |
| Collections | Hide COD for products in these collections, or show COD only when the cart has products from them. |
| Vendors | Hide COD for these vendors, or show COD only for them. |
| Gift cards | Hide COD when the cart contains a gift card. |
7. Location
These rules use the shopper's shipping address.

8. Customers
